This section assesses your ability to understand written material, reason critically, and evaluate arguments. Our tutoring ensures complete coverage of each core area:

  • Reading Comprehension: These questions assess your ability to understand ideas and statements, identify logical relationships, draw inferences, and follow the development of concepts. These questions test skills such as main idea, supporting details, inference, application, logical structure, and style.
  • Critical Reasoning: These questions assess your ability to build and evaluate arguments and judge a course of action. Based on short passages, these questions typically ask you to strengthen, weaken, analyze, or identify flaws in an argument, with no specialized subject knowledge required.

GMAT English Exam Overview

The GMAT is a highly secure, Computer-Adaptive test. The Verbal Reasoning section is compressed and emphasizes deep logical precision over memorization.

  • Format: A computer-adaptive test featuring 23 multiple-choice questions focused exclusively on Reading Comprehension and Critical Reasoning.
  • Duration: Strictly timed at 45 minutes.
  • Review and Edit  Feature: Students can bookmark questions as they go, review them at the end of the section, and change up to three answers via the Review and Edit feature.
  • Select Section Order: Candidates can choose their preferred section order.
  • Scoring: The Verbal Reasoning section is scored on a scale of 60 to 90 and contributes equally to your Total GMAT Score.
