The Growing Stars Cambridge International AS & A Level History Tutoring Program follows the current Cambridge International History 9489 syllabus.
At AS Level, students study one of three options: Modern Europe, 1750–1921; The History of the USA, 1820–1941; or International History, 1870–1945. The AS Level content develops students’ understanding of historical periods and themes, including cause and consequence, change and continuity, similarity and difference, significance, and interpretations.
At A Level, students build on the AS content and study Paper 3 on one of three topics—The origins of the First World War, The Holocaust, or The origins and development of the Cold War—together with a chosen Paper 4 depth study from the European, American, or International options.
The program supports the application-focused nature of Cambridge History, including applying historical knowledge, analysing and evaluating historical evidence and sources, explaining historical issues and arguments, assessing different interpretations, developing substantiated judgements, and presenting clear and logical arguments. Students also develop an understanding of the nature and diversity of historical sources, different approaches to historical issues, and perspectives on the past.

Students completing the full A Level take Paper 3 and Paper 4 in addition to the AS Level components. Paper 3 is the Interpretations question, while Paper 4 is the Depth study. Students may take the A Level components after carrying forward their AS Level result or take all four components in the same exam series, subject to the Cambridge assessment arrangements.
