Our AP Chemistry course is geared towards motivating the students to develop interests in Chemistry, and its relation to the physical and biological sciences. Since this is a college-level course taught in high school, it is very demanding, in terms of both time and effort. AP Chemistry will force a student to think at higher levels, apply concepts to new situations, and even derive original theories from applications.

Our course is designed to help the students attain a depth of understanding of fundamentals and competence in dealing with chemical problems. It also contributes to the development of the students’ abilities to think clearly and to express their ideas with clarity and logic. With emphasis on chemical calculations and mathematical formulation of principles, it helps the students to solidify concepts, serves as an excellent review for the AP Exam, and challenges them to the limits of their academic abilities.

Students get practice on multiple-choice questions covering the entire curriculum; free-response questions (including quantitative problems); questions on chemical reactions and predicting products, and free-response essay prompts that require the authoring of chemical equations. Student practice will involve authoring balanced net ionic chemical equations for various scenarios, and answering questions about the equations and scenarios.
